My name is Barbara Cary-Hamby, and I have worked as an
educator for the past thirty-five years. I have obtained a Masters Degree in Learning Disabilities, a Post-Masters Degree
in Reading, and dual certification as a School Psychologist and School Counselor. I have served as a Corrective Reading
Teacher in a Title One Program, a School Counselor, and a School Psychologist. My teaching and School Psychology/School Counseling
experiences have been very broad, rich, and varied. I teach students on a one-to-one basis.
As a parent
myself, I know firsthand the struggles involved in teaching our children academic skills and the blow to our children's self-esteem
when they do not learn as rapidly as others. I have a strong passion, desire, and commitment to assist your children
as emerging readers, tackle their negative beliefs about themselves, replace those beliefs with more positive beliefs, learn
comprehensive reading skills, and become competent, lifelong readers.
I work with students from kindergarten
through twelfth grade.
